The American University in Cairo’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to renew President Francis Ricciardone for a second four-year term, effective July 1, 2020. At its May board meeting in New York, the Board commended President Ricciardone for his leadership of the institution.

Undergraduate Commencement: Students Celebrate Milestone, Al Ghurair Receives Honorary Degree

Yesterday’s undergraduate commencement ceremony saw the graduation of a total of 634 students, of whom 108 were distinguished as cum laude, 114 as magna cum laude, and 130 as summa cum laude. His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO of Mashreq Group and chairman of the board of trustees of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from AUC in recognition of his leadership and philanthropic contributions.

AUC's Employability, Career Development Centers Project Celebrates Years of Service

After five years of activity, AUC’s Employability and Career Development Centers (ECDC) project is celebrating its widespread impact.Through the project, AUC’s Career Center acted as a model as a model for the three centers established at Ain Shams and Suez Canal universities. The centers have served more than 40,000 students at these universities, boasting an employment rate of 85 percent among beneficiaries over the project’s lifespan. In total, these universities now house 14 certified Career Development Facilitators as part of the ECDC program.
