AUC and EEP to Launch Egypt Education Platform Scholarship
The scholarship will fund the tuition for a high-achieving student from freshman year through graduation, selected based on AUC’s admission standards and EEP’s additional criteria. Candidates will be evaluated on their accomplishments in areas such as sports, arts, music, drama, entrepreneurship, or leadership, supported by a proven record of awards, performances, or competition achievements. The agreement was signed by Ahmed Wahby ‘03, Group CEO, Middle East and Africa at EEP and Associate Provost for Enrollment Management at AUC, Ahmed Abdel-Meguid.
"This initiative reflects EEP’s strong belief in the power of education to transform lives and aligns with our mission to chart pathways for students' success beyond school. We are proud to support ambitious Egyptian students as they continue their educational journey at one of the region’s most prestigious universities,” Wahby stated at the ceremony.
Abdel-Meguid added, “High quality education such as that provided by The American University in Cairo should be accessible to the best students and financial support provided by the University and its partners is aligned with this objective.” He emphasized that investing in outstanding students benefits not only the individual but also the University and society at large, stating that “The Egypt Education Platform scholarship directed to support an outstanding student is a testament to its genuine belief in the transformational power of education on youth. We are appreciative of this generous support.” He also added that any financial support directed to outstanding students is an investment that is expected to yield a return for the student, the University, and society at large.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from EEP and AUC’s student recruitment team.
