AUC Students Representing Egypt at COP27

Seniors Ahmed Yakout and Nada Hesham were chosen by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as two of five students representing Egypt at COP27 and the 17th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth.

COP27 Task Force

On the occasion of Egypt hosting the COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, AUC formed a university-wide task force whose mandate is to develop a master plan for AUC's COP27 participation.

We stand ready to work with all parties and the Egyptian COP presidency to ensure that the Glasgow Sharm El-Sheikh Work Program on the Global Goal on Adaptation will accelerate effective action, and to fully operationalize the Santiago Network.

Just Transition

With COP27 being hosted in Egypt in November 2022, more focus is directed to African and Global Southern issues on climate change, and in particular, climate justice and a just transition to net-zero emissions.
