I am writing to inform you that Dr. Daniel Ortiz has, for personal reasons, decided to resign from his position as Dean of Library, effective March 1, 2023. I am in the process of putting together a search committee and we will soon embark on an international search for a new Dean. In the meantime, Ms. Lamia Eid, Associate Dean of Library, has graciously agreed to serve as Interim Dean while the search is ongoing and until an appointment is made.

Subject: Reducing our COVID-19 Restrictions

As we enter the third week of the Fall 2022 semester, we are happy to report that vaccination rates of our faculty, students and staff is at almost 98%. At the same time, the rates of COVID-19 cases continue to remain extremely low. Based on these factors, I announced in Thursday’s Campus Conversation we will be reducing some of our current restrictions and facilitating a smoother access to campus for everyone.
