Appointment of the Next Associate Provost for Enrollment Management

Dear AUC Community,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ammar Baig as Associate Provost for Enrollment Management at The American University in Cairo, effective August 1, 2026. In this capacity, he will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for student recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, financial support and international programs.
Baig brings over two decades of experience in enrollment strategy, international education and institutional development across North America and the Middle East. Most recently, he served as director of enrollment at HEC Paris in Doha, where he led strategic initiatives in recruitment, admissions, financial aid and scholarship for the institution’s flagship Executive MBA degree programs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He also oversaw institutional data, reporting and enrollment CRM systems, with a focus on service automation and process optimization. Previously, Baig held senior leadership roles at VCUarts Qatar and Toronto Metropolitan University, where he enhanced institutional visibility, cultivated global partnerships and developed sustainable enrollment pipelines.
He is recognized for his commitment to innovation, accountability and team development. His vision aligns closely with AUC’s mission, supporting academic excellence, diversity and long-term financial sustainability. He holds an executive master’s in Business Management (Strategy) from HEC Paris and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of New Brunswick in Canada.
