Dear AUC Community,

It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of an esteemed member of our community, Arthur Lindenauer, a former member of AUC’s Board of Trustees and longtime Advisory Trustee.

Mr. Lindenauer was a dedicated advocate and generous supporter of AUC and its mission. He served on the Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2009 and continued his commitment to the University as an Advisory Trustee. Throughout his years of service, he brought invaluable expertise in finance and governance, sound judgment, and a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives.

Mr. Lindenauer’s generosity extended well beyond his board service. Together with his wife, Susan, he supported student scholarships, academic programs, and the development of the New Cairo campus. The Art and Susan Lindenauer Room in the School of Sciences and Engineering stands as a lasting reminder of their generosity and commitment to creating opportunities for future generations.

Beyond his contributions to AUC, Mr. Lindenauer devoted much of his life to serving others. His philanthropic spirit and commitment to the public good were reflected in his longstanding involvement with educational, healthcare, and cultural institutions. Through his service on the boards of organizations dedicated to advancing education, expanding access to healthcare, supporting medical research, and enriching the arts, he demonstrated a profound sense of social responsibility and a genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives.

We are deeply grateful for Mr. Lindenauer’s unwavering commitment to AUC and the enduring impact of his service and generosity. Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with his wife, Susan, and his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
