Dear AUC Community,

I am pleased to announce that Mr. Jonathan French has been appointed as the new senior director of our International Programs and Services Office (IPSO), as of March 1st, 2026. This appointment follows an extensive international search.

French comes to AUC from the University of Warwick in the UK, where he held numerous positions over the past 10 years. Most recently, he served as the head of student mobility, overseeing short and long-term programs for international study and work opportunities. He led the implementation of the University’s internationalization of education strategies, building partnerships to ensure student access to a range of international opportunities. French lived in Cairo previously, having worked for 8 years with Macmillan Education, Egypt.

At AUC, French will be leading the IPSO team in Cairo and the US. He will be responsible for IPSO strategy and operations, including short-term programs for students and faculty, study abroad programs, supporting international students who are studying in Cairo and building partnerships between AUC and international universities.
