Current Regional Situation

Dear AUC Community,

All of us have been following the rapidly unfolding war. While our lives here in Cairo continue without disruption, we are all experiencing the toll of the loss of life and uncertainty in our region. Many members of our community have family, friends and loved ones across the region. Others whose families live all around the world are receiving understandable messages of concern in light of news reports.

In these troubling times, our resilience and care for each other — hallmarks of our community — are as important as ever. We remain individually and collectively prepared to provide support to all members of the community. The Center for Wellbeing and the clinic are standing by to support all students, faculty and staff who would like to speak with someone. Additionally, the international programs office is also available for all international students who may have questions.

We are monitoring the situation and will share any additional information as it becomes available. In the meantime, please stay updated with the news and guidance from the relevant embassies for those who are citizens of other countries.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have experienced loss of life, as well as the families and loved ones of members of the community who are in countries around the region. We pray for peace, stability and prosperity. Meanwhile, we take comfort in remaining focused on our mission of teaching and research of the highest caliber.
