Excellence Scholarship Program
AUC is looking for outstanding students from diverse backgrounds who embody excellence and have the potential and passion for advancing themselves, their communities and the world. Through the Excellence Scholarship Program, we offer a variety of highly competitive scholarships that, when combined, may provide tuition coverage from 20% to 100% in total, for the very best students eligible in the various categories. Because excellence is multidimensional, AUC’s scholarships are based on a number of criteria. Excellence is the common thread that combines all categories of scholarship. These highly competitive scholarships are based on excellence and financial need. This ensures that AUC is accessible to the most outstanding students, regardless of their financial ability.

Yes. If you did not apply for Excellence Scholarships when you submitted the admissions application and would like to apply, please email enrolauc@aucegypt.edu requesting access to the scholarship section of the application. If you already received a provisional acceptance letter, scholarship decisions will be taken at the final admission stage after submission of your final scores.
Given the large number of applications and the highly competitive nature of the Excellence Scholarship, submission of incomplete supporting documents and/or late submission of supporting documents could affect the scholarship awarding decision and/or the percentage awarded.
Yes. Excellence Scholarships are continuing scholarships that are renewable as long as you meet the criteria to maintain your scholarship after entering AUC. Applicable detailed conditions will also be indicated on scholarship agreement.
Excellence Scholarships are highly competitive, and as such, not all students who apply will be selected. However, once you submit your final scores, we will review your application and check eligibility again. You will be notified of any changes in your financial support status at the final admissions stage.
Excellence Scholarships are competitive and not all applicants will receive scholarships. We look at a variety of eligibility criteria. For students with current GPAs/scores (American High School Diploma, Canadian Certificates, and GCE/GCSE/IGCSE), we make decisions based on current GPAs/scores, all scholarship documents submitted on a timely basis, and assessment of candidates through reviews, interviews and/or tryouts. For students without submitted scores (International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, German Abitur, Egyptian National Certificates, and other recognized certificates), we review all scholarship documents submitted and assess candidates through review, interviews, and/or tryouts, and then advise them of the required minimum scores they must obtain in order to be awarded. Scholarship decisions are made on a rolling basis and timely submission of scholarship documents will ensure a faster scholarship decision. Conditional decisions have been taken on all categories to which you applied. However, final decisions for the Excellence Academic Achievement Category for all certificates will be taken based on your final GPA/scores given that you submit for final transcripts in a timely manner. Final decisions are subject to change based on final scores submitted.
Yes. As stated in the provisional acceptance letter and supplemental financial support letter, awards may change based on final grades/scores. For example, if you received 30% academic achievement and your final grades/scores are significantly better, you may be eligible for a higher percentage of coverage. If you received 60% and your final grades/scores drop significantly, your coverage may decrease.
The International Diversity category is open to applicants who apply to AUC as international applicants and who do not hold an Egyptian nationality. All eligible applicants who checked the scholarship box on the application are automatically considered for this category.
No. The percentage cannot be increased after entering AUC.
No. The Excellence Scholarship covers any one major of your choice. (note: Excellence Scholarship Liberal Arts Majors category recipients must select one of the 13 eligible majors). While you are allowed to pursue more than one major and/or minor at AUC (subject to the applicable academic requirements), the Excellence Scholarship covers the number of credits required for one major only.
In order to keep your scholarship, you must meet the maintenance criteria. For Academic Achievement, you must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA that is set according to the percentage of scholarship coverage: 3.4 for 60%, 3.2 for 40% and 3.0 for 30%. Liberal Arts Major scholarships require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Talents (Athletics, Music, Art, and Writing) and Leadership and Community Service require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 AND you must continue to be active in the category of your scholarship and submit an annual portfolio.
AUC recognizes that students may experience academic difficulties at different points in their studies. Accordingly, we do not cancel scholarships the first time recipients do not meet the required cumulative GPA and we allow opportunities to raise their GPAs. Excellence recipients can receive a maximum of three Scholarship GPA Violation Letters over the course of their studies before their scholarships are revoked. Should a recipient of the Talent and/or Leadership and Community Service category fail to submit the report/portfolio and/or not engage sufficiently in the relevant Scholarship category, s/he will receive an Activity Engagement Violation Letter and have one semester to enhance and document activities in a new report/portfolio. Full details will be provided in the Excellence Scholarship Agreement that each recipient will receive and sign prior to the start of fall 2024 semester.

Transfer students who have completed 60 credits or more (two years or more) in an accredited university will be automatically considered for the First-Year Achievement Awards subject to a minimum university GPA. Award percentages will vary according to final GPA/grades per submitted university transcripts.
First-Year Achievement Awards are for the first year of study at AUC. They will be applied to both the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. However, AUC strives to offer a variety of financial support opportunities to both new and current students. Such opportunities vary from year to year based on the availability of funding.
First-Year Achievement Award percentages vary from student to student based on a variety of factors including but not limited to the following: (1) if a student’s financial support consists of the First-Year Achievement Award only, (2) if a student’s financial support consists of both a First-Year Achievement Award and an Excellence Scholarship, and the Excellence Scholarship percentage offered, and (3) the student’s current scores (if applicable). Final total financial support percentages could change based on final grades/scores and other awards.

AUC continuously provides highly competitive financial support opportunities for its new and current students. The amount and type of support is dependent on the availability of funds and other factors. Currently, AUC offers a variety of different types of donor-funded and AUC-funded scholarships. Each scholarship has specific eligibility criteria to apply and maintain scholarships. New students entering in Fall 2024 may be eligible to apply for any available financial support opportunities starting the spring 2025 semester on the condition that they meet the eligibility criteria.
