Course Registration for Visiting International Students
Preliminary Course Planning (PCP) Form
You must submit a PCP form to IPSO to be approved to enroll in your course selections prior to the registration period.
Undergraduate Students: For fall and spring semesters, it is mandatory to fill in five main courses and at least three alternate courses, in order of preference. If you wish to take four courses only, email ipso@aucegypt.edu.
Graduate Students: For fall and spring semesters, it is mandatory to fill in three main courses and at least two alternate courses, in order of preference.
Course Timings
The AUC academic week is Sunday-Thursday (Egypt’s weekends are Friday and Saturday). On the Dynamic Schedule you will find M = Monday, T = Tuesday (a study day with primarily laboratories and graduate seminars), W = Wednesday, R = Thursday, U = Sunday. Most courses take place on MR (Monday/Thursday) or UW (Sunday/Wednesday). 5000-level courses and seminars meet once per week.
Prerequisites
Some AUC courses listed a prerequisite. When you select a course on the PCP form, the AUC prerequisite(s) will automatically show up on the form. Review the prerequisite(s) for the courses in the AUC catalog and write in the name of the course(s) listed on your transcript that is the best match. On the Dynamic Schedule, some courses may note "For Majors Only" or "For Minors Only", which is intended for degree-seeking students only. As non-degree students, you can still enroll in these courses if you meet the prerequisite(s) though they may fill up quickly.
