  • Sickness Medical Expense benefit of at least $500,000
  • Emergency medical evacuation of at least the actual cost
  • Non-Medical Emergency Evacuation of at least $150,000
  • Repatriation of remains of at least the actual cost

If your plan meets the above criteria, you must submit the online medical insurance exemption form before:

  • September 22, 2020 for the fall semester
  • January 12, 2021, for the winter session
  • February 23, 2021, for the spring semester
  • June 18, 2021, for the summer session

If you are residing at your home country during the Fall 2020 semester, fill in the form as well and mention that you are not physically in Egypt, providing us with your home country insurance plan as you have to be covered at your home country.

Important Note: The online exemption form will not be accessible after the deadline. Missing the deadline will result in charging your student account with the applicable premium. If your admission to the University is granted after the deadline, the request for exemption must be submitted within one week from receiving your admission offer by sending an email to healthinsurance@aucegypt.edu.

This option is available for students who have dependents (spouse and/or children) accompanying them. For more information click here.

Dependents coverage is mandatory for international graduate students. If at any given time, family members of international graduate students decide to reside in Egypt with the student, then they, as dependents (spouse and children) must be well covered by a health insurance plan for the duration of their stay in Egypt. It is highly advised that the insurance for dependents plan that is administered by AUC be made use of.  Alternatively, there has to be proof of a similar insurance plan to get an exemption. Dependents who are on short term visits to Egypt must be covered by a travel insurance. AUC cannot be held responsible for dependents who are not covered by a health insurance plan.

You will receive your identification number (soft copy card) for the policy nine weeks into the semester. Contact healthinsurance@aucegypt.edu to obtain your insurance ID number if you need to access medical services or file a claim.

Although specific vaccinations are not required for admission to AUC, we recommend that US students consult the U.S. Center for Disease Control  prior to traveling abroad. AUC students can also receive vaccinations and immunizations at the school’s medical clinic.

The cost of these vaccinations are not covered by the student insurance policy.
