The Egyptian Graduate Fellowship

The Egyptian Graduate fellowship is a full institutional fellowship to support accomplished, highly qualified graduate degree-seeking Egyptian students. This fellowship is offered to students who wish to pursue full-time study, nine credits per semester, toward a master's degree in one of the graduate programs at AUC.

Eligibility

  • Egyptian nationals only
  • Graduate degree-seeking applicants satisfying AUC graduate admissions requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade point average GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
  • To retain the fellowship, the recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2

Duration

The fellowship is awarded for a maximum duration of five semesters and one intervening summer session, with a review every semester for satisfactory academic performance. For the Counseling Psychology graduate program, the duration may be extended to a maximum of seven semesters.

Award

The fellowship covers:

  • Tuition fees for the total credit hours needed towards the completion of the graduate degree, with a maximum of nine credit hours per semester
  • A stipend for each month where the student is registered in a graduate course is counted towards the completion of his/her graduate degree
  • This fellowship may cover Remedial English modules
  • This fellowship does not cover the Intensive English course (ELI)

Responsibilities of Fellows

  • Fellows must maintain a full-time student status throughout their study and complete their degree requirements within the coverage duration of the fellowship, maximum of five semesters.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 throughout the duration of their graduate studies.
  • Fulfill a number of 18 working hours of teaching assistantship within the department of the relevant discipline.
  • A Teaching Assistantship mandatory training must be completed per university requirements.
