Scholarships for Visiting International Students
Hermann F. Eilts Scholarship (Undergraduate Students Only)
Established in memory of Hermann F. Eilts, former AUC trustee and American ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, this scholarship is awarded to undergraduate study abroad students from universities in the United States who enroll in AUC courses related to Middle East Studies. Applicants are not required to be a Middle East Studies major. It is awarded initially for one semester and may be renewable for a second semester based on academic progress. It can be used to cover AUC tuition and/or housing.
Simpson Scholarship in Egyptology (Undergraduate and Graduate Students)
Established to support students who have an interest in Egyptology. Applicants are not required to be an Egyptology or Archaeology major. Preference is given to students visiting from universities and colleges in the United States. It is awarded initially for one semester and may be renewable for a second semester based on academic progress. It can be used to cover tuition and/or AUC housing.
The Pangburn, Ellis, LaBarge Study Abroad Fund (Graduate Students Only)
Awarded for one semester to outstanding graduate students in any discipline from universities in the United States, who are committed to utilizing their AUC experience to promote greater understanding and relations between Egypt and the United States.
How to Apply?
- Before applying for an AUC scholarship, meet with your home university study abroad advisor to learn about opportunities for financial support from your home institution.
- Submit a program application to AUC. Click here for the application forms and instructions.
- Receive an acknowledgment email from the AUC Admissions Office that includes your 9-digit AUC ID number. With your ID number and birthdate, set up an AUC Banner account here.
- Log in to Banner and select “Financial Aid and Scholarships Applications” to complete your scholarship application and upload the required documents.
Award Decisions
Award decisions are communicated to students approximately one month following the application deadline each term. If awarded, you will receive an email with a scholarship letter to sign and confirm receipt. The scholarships are posted to your AUC student account after the drop/add period, within one week of the first day of classes.
