Farewell to VP Richard Brow
May 26, 2025
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I am writing to inform you that Richard Brow, vice president for institutional advancement and alumni relations, has decided to leave AUC at the end of his contract on August 31, for personal reasons. Over the past three years, Richard played a central role in streamlining the Advancement and alumni operations at AUC and mobilizing resources to sustain the University’s mission during a particularly challenging period.
During his time at AUC, Richard implemented best practices in university advancement that have greatly improved AUC’s performance in fundraising and alumni relations. We are concluding the most successful year in fundraising at the University with the largest single gift and the establishment of a landmark partnership with the Sawiris family. Relations with our lead donors have been strengthened; new funds have been secured to support scholarships, facilities, and academic initiatives; and a new program in gift planning is yielding valuable results. Significantly, gifts to our endowment have risen, contributing to the long-term financial security of the University.
Alumni engagement has also been strengthened through innovative new programs and activities on campus and the reinvigoration of our alumni chapters across the region and internationally. We have witnessed the increased involvement and support of our alumni through mentoring, career advice, student recruitment, volunteering, and diverse student activities — and, in turn, we have celebrated the many successes and achievements of our alumni.
AUC has benefited from Richard’s professional experience in both advancement and the region. He has grown and mentored a highly committed team of advancement professionals, respected across the University, who will carry this important work forward.
I would like to express my appreciation for Richard’s many contributions to AUC and extend good wishes for his future.
Sincerely,
Ahmad Dallal
President
