Farewell to VP of Management and Operations

Dear Faculty and Staff,
I write to share that Shereen Shaker, vice president of management and operations, has resigned from her position effective December 31, 2025, to pursue another opportunity outside of AUC. An alumna, Shereen has brought a deep commitment to her alma mater, as well as a spirit of collegiality, warmth and teamwork during her six years of service to AUC.
Bringing more than two decades of facilities management experience and best practices in several multinationals, Shereen worked to enhance all areas of the operation and instill a user-centered approach to the services she oversaw. During her time, AUC underwent several infrastructure projects and introduced new systems for preventive management, safety, and services. Among her most important contributions is the pivotal role she played in managing the University's response to the pandemic as part of the Covid-19 Response Task Force, helping AUC successfully navigate through unprecedented challenges.
In the past couple of years under Shereen’s leadership, the management and operations area underwent a reorganization to streamline services and enhance performance. Shereen has also played a significant role in the early stages of design and preparation for Campus 2026, a major expansion of our existing facility.
I am grateful to Shereen for her hard work and dedication, and wish her continued success in her next role. We have begun an international search for the next vice president for management and operations.
