Condolences: Professor Ahmed Taher

Dear AUC Community,
With deep sadness, I share with you the news of the passing of Professor Ahmed Taher, former assistant professor and graduate director in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
Taher had a long history at AUC, teaching initially in the School of Continuing Education in 1986, later teaching for 13 years in the (now) Onsi Sawiris School of Business, before joining the JRMC department in 2016. In addition to his many years of teaching at AUC, he also served for a number of terms on the University Senate.
Taher earned his BSc in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, his MBA from The Ohio State University and his PhD in business administration/marketing from the University of Georgia. His research and teaching interests were extensive, ranging from business development, marketing strategy, international marketing, advertising and promotion management, public relations, marketing research, sales management, channel management, personal selling, consumer behavior and principles of marketing, mass media research, creative design and copywriting. He also served on the board of various community-based foundations and major corporations.
Funeral services for Professor Taher were held yesterday, October 29. Condolences will be received on Sunday, November 2, following Maghreb prayers in Al-Safa Hall at the Al Mosheer Tantawi Mosque, New Cairo.
