The Office of the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation (AP-AA) works closely with school deans, department chairs, program directors, faculty and staff to build and sustain a culture of assessment that supports excellence in academic programs and enhances the students’ educational experience at AUC.

About the Office

The Office of the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation (AP-AA) is responsible for the development and implementation of an effective plan for monitoring and evaluating program quality and ensuring the continuous improvement of academic programs as part of AUC’s wide plan of institutional effectiveness. The responsibilities of the AP-AA office include planning, developing, and implementing academic leadership development activities as well as the implementation of effective and sustainable assessments of faculty and academic officers. The AP-AA office supports schools and academic departments in all aspects of the accreditation process to maintain existing and seek new international and regional accreditations. The AP-AA office also oversees the publication of the fully searchable online University Catalog.

The office is committed to support schools and academic departments in all aspects of the accreditation process to maintain existing and seek new international and regional accreditations.

The office coordinates the University’s participation in global and regional rankings, including QS and Times Higher Education (THE) different rankings including World University Rankings, Regional Rankings, Subject Rankings, and Sustainability/Impact Rankings. This includes coordination of data collection across academic and administrative units, validation and quality assurance of institutional data and timely submission in accordance with ranking requirements. It also analyzes ranking results and longitudinal performance trends, benchmarks the University against peer institutions and works with stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities for improvement and alignment with the University’s academic, research and sustainability priorities.

The AP-AA office coordinates the acquisition and renewal of the equivalency of the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) for AUC’s academic programs with the different schools, the Office of the Counselor, and the SCU committees. This coordination ensures rigorous review of departmental self-study reports, effective facilitation of SCU committee visits to AUC and structured follow-up to implement and monitor recommendations.

The AP-AA office plays a central role in organizing leadership development programs for academic and administrative leaders. The office identifies development needs, design relevant training opportunities and coordinate workshops that strengthen leadership skills across the institution.

The AP-AA office oversees the Faculty Mentorship Program that brings colleagues together to learn, grow and thrive. The Faculty Mentorship Program helps ensure a smooth integration of new faculty, enhances their ability to add value to the institution and promotes a more positive institutional climate. The program includes both one-on-one and group mentoring to foster collaboration, professional growth and a strong sense of community across our campus.
