New QR Code Entry Visa System
The Egyptian authorities have introduced a new QR Code Entry Visa system for eligible travelers entering Egypt, replacing the traditional visa sticker process. The applicable visa fee has been revised to $36 per visa instead of $30.
To ensure a smooth arrival, note the following:
- If you are arranging the visa independently:
Travelers may complete the QR Code Entry Visa process through one of the options below:
Option 1
- Complete the required visa application online or through the official mobile application.
- Pay the applicable visa and service fees electronically by credit card.
- After receiving the QR code by email or printing it from the self-service machines, it will be scanned by the passport control officer upon arrival in Egypt after checking the passenger's passport.
Option 2
Alternatively, eligible travelers may complete the process upon arrival using the designated self-service machines available at Cairo International Airport, where the application, payment by credit card and QR code issuance are completed before proceeding to passport control.
