Health Information System
This section aims to support strengthening the role of health information systems (HIS) in guiding policy change and improving the effectiveness of health programs for the purpose of achieving health equity. HIS, when adequately conceptualized and developed, can be used to assess the unequal distribution of health among social groups and illustrate the role of the socioeconomic political context in unfairly undermining the health status of disadvantaged groups. It can assist in identifying key social drivers for addressing priority health inequities in countries.
