Faculty Research Pitch Competition

The Faculty Research Pitch competition challenges faculty to communicate their research findings to a non-specialized audience in an engaging way. Participants will compete for cash awards, and finalists will have their research featured on posters and screens around campus. 

For information and application for this event, visit the Research Convention Center (RCC) website. Applicants will receive resources for help with presenting the pitch.

Description

  • Faculty present their research in a three minute pitch

  • Judges select finalists based on the criteria below

  • The final round is held during the RCC final event. Three winners are selected by the audience and awarded at the closing ceremony

Eligibility

All full time and part-time AUC faculty from all schools

Criteria

  • Content: clarifies the purpose of research, findings, and impact in the real world/region. Identifies what problem it solves

  • Delivery: clear communication to a non-specialized audience, logically organized talk that leaves the audience with a clear understanding, engaging and interesting - audible, motivated speakers, engaged audience

  • No PowerPoint slides or props

  • Up to three minutes, does not exceed the time

Awards

  • EGP 15,000; 10,000 and 5,000 per winner from each school 

  • Research featured on posters around campus, library screens, and AUC news
