AUC is offering new scholarships for undergraduate Egyptian and international students applying for Fall 2019, including the Undergraduate Scholarship in Liberal Arts Education and the AUC Centennial Scholarship Fund. In addition, during Fall 2018, 574 students received scholarships and more than 1,700 students received financial aid. According to Sohair Saad, executive director of the Office of Financial Affairs and Scholarships, those numbers are expected to increase next semester with the launch of new scholarships.

Saad explained that although scholarships are competitive, AUC is always looking for students who are outstanding academically and have a passion for changing their communities and making an impact.

“We have a number of outstanding opportunities for undergraduate students from governorates all over Egypt and especially for those in Upper Egypt,” said Saad.

Through the AUC Centennial Scholarship Fund, the University will offer partial and full support for undergraduate degree-seeking Egyptian and international students demonstrating outstanding academic qualifications and financial need.

Another new scholarship students can consider is the the AUC Liberal Arts Undergraduate Scholarship, offered to students from Egypt, the region, and the United States to study humanities and social sciences at AUC. According to Saad, the new initiative will provide 20 partial and full scholarships annually.

The Empower Scholarship at AUC aims to provide the best public and private national school students with an opportunity to pursue their academic career at AUC, by providing five annual scholarships to thanawiya amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag and Fayyoum.

AUC recently introduced new scholarships for 50 Egyptian students and 50 African students, funded by Moataz Al Alfi, board chairman and CEO of Egypt Kuwait Holding Company and a member of the University’s Board of Trustees.

Established in 2015, the Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim A. Allehedan Endowed Scholarship and Scientific Research Fund supports Arab students in the fields of basic science by offering scholarships based on merit and financial need.

AUC also offers a number of other scholarships like the AUC Scholarship for Refugees, the Athletic Scholarship, the SU Scholarship and the Cultural Scholarship.

AUC offers more than 90 named scholarships supported by individuals and corporations. “Through the continuous generosity of many of our prestigious donors, AUC is able to recruit and educate outstanding and eligible students coming from a number of diverse cities, countries and different educational backgrounds,” said Ahmed Tolba, associate provost for strategic enrollment management.
