AUC Holds First Virtual Open Day with 800 Prospective Students
Around 800 prospective students attended AUC's first virtual Open Day last Saturday, and more than 20 faculty members engaged with the students. Prospective students from a diverse set of high school backgrounds explored the 40 majors and 55 minors offered at the University. Each school had a Zoom booth and was represented by a faculty member who answered questions about the different courses, tracks and programs found at the school. The Student Service Center also had a booth to answer any additional questions about programs and admissions

Aisha Altubuly '21 Combats Gender-Based Violence in Libya
“Gender-based violence can be in the form of patriarchal norms through propagating gender stereotypes and always putting women and girls in a weaker position, or assuming that certain things are out of their capacity because of their gender traits and identity,” asserted Aisha Altubuly '21, political science graduate who received the Tomorrow’s Leaders US State-Department Funded (TL) scholarship at AUC.

AUC athlete and computer engineering senior Mohamed El-Shenawy ranked seventh among 17 competitors in the 2021 World Rowing Indoor Championships.

Competing with more than 150 startups, the Department of Chemistry's NanoEbers recently won the Coup de Couer prize at the French-Egyptian Startup Competition for creating a technology used to detect toxins in water.

Five alumnae are ranked in Forbes Middle East as some of the top 50 power businesswomen in the region for their "resilience, flexibility and strength in the face of unprecedented adversity."

As a refugee living in Egypt for around eight years and working many different jobs, I feel that my experience, knowledge, and skills will allow me to succeed in this major, and maybe someday, I will be able to offer something that can help migrants and refugees around the world.
