Teaching Assistants and Graduate Students Professional Development Program (TAGS)
TAGS is a professional development program for teacher assistants (TAs) and graduate students. The program is a collaboration between the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) and the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies which aims to provide professional development opportunities for teaching assistants and graduate students. This program includes Teaching Assistant Professional Development (TAPD) mandatory sessions and TAGS optional professional development workshops.
Teaching Assistant Professional Development (TAPD)
The Teaching Assistants Professional Development (TAPD) program is designed to prepare TAs for their role and assigned duties at AUC and offer them opportunities for their own professional development. All TAs are required to register in advance for one of the two days offered each semester. For more information, click here.
TAGS Academic Growth Track
This track focuses on providing participants interested in pursuing a career in teaching with the necessary knowledge and skills. It includes topics such as effective teaching strategies, learning technologies, creative assessments and active learning.
Fall 2020 Sessions: All sessions to be offered online during Fall 2020 and will be announced through graduate student portal.
TAGS Professional Growth Track:
This track introduces participants to topics and skills that will allow them to adapt to the dynamic job market. The track includes topics such as leadership skills, conflict resolution management, exploring group dynamics and agility in the workspace.
