Interest rates are for federal loans originated in the 2025 - 2026 academic year - disbursed on or after July 1, 2025 and before July 1, 2026.

Interest	6.39% fixed interest rate *The interest rate will not change throughout the life of the loan.
Eligibility	Must be in a degree-seeking program at least half-time. Limits based on your grade level at AUC.
Terms and Repayment Information	Repayment deferred, no interest while enrolled at least half-time. Origination fee 1.057% on loans originated on or after October 1, 2020. Repayment of the subsidized loan begins six months after graduation or if you fall below six credits. A federal loan servicer will be assigned by the Department of Education, and will communicate directly with students via email or regular mail. Many servicers will give you the option to choose how you prefer to be contacted. Contact your loan servicer for details.
How to Apply?	Students must complete FAFSA. Must sign Master Promissory Note and complete Entrance Counseling to receive funds. Go to Studentaid.gov.

Eligibility	Enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program. There is a maximum amount that a student can borrow each year.
Terms and Repayment Information	Interest accrues from the time loan is disbursed. Interest payments may be made while in school. Repayment of principal deferred while enrolled at least half-time (at least six credit hours). Origination fee 1.057% loans originated on or after October 1, 2020.
How to Apply?	Student must complete FAFSA. Must sign Master Promissory Note and complete Entrance Counseling to receive funds. Go to Studentaid.gov.

Interest	9.94% fixed interest rate *The interest rate will not change throughout the life of the loan.
Eligibility	May borrow up the cost of attendance less other aid. The student must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program. The parent may borrow on behalf of the student.
Terms and Repayment Information	Interest begins to accrue upon loan disbursement. Repayment of principal and interest begins after the loan is fully disbursed. The Department of Education charges an origination fee on the principal amount of each Graduate Direct PLUS Loan and Parent PLUS loan. The fee is deducted proportionately from each disbursement of your loan. Origination fee 4.228% on loans originated on or after October 1, 2020. You don't have to start making payments until six months after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment. During any period when you’re not required to make payments, interest will accrue on your loan. You may choose to pay the accrued interest or allow the interest to be capitalized (added to your loan principal balance) when you have to start making payments. Your loan servicer will notify you when your first payment is due. Parents may choose to set up payments while the student is attending or defer payments until the student graduates.
How to Apply?	Students must complete FAFSA. Parents must sign Master Promissory Note to receive funds. Go to Studentaid.gov. Parents must pass the Department of Education credit check and complete credit counseling with Studentaid.gov.

Eligibility	Satisfy the credit requirements. US citizen or permanent resident. Students who have no prior student loan default and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Term	Varies with loan type. 0% Origination fee.
How to Apply?	Must be accepted full-time, half-time, or less than half-time in a degree or a certificate program at AUC. Students must complete the Sallie Mae Student Loans Application.
