Athletic Scholarships

The Athletic Scholarships are partial awards given annually to a select number of students who participate in sports that are listed in the Egyptian Championship Tournament and/or Olympic Games with a high level of distinction. Maintaining the athletic scholarship depends on the scholarship recipient’s athletic performance and results each year.

* Recipients of the Excellence-Talent Athletic Scholarship are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Actively participated in at least one of the sports listed on this page and that are recognized and/or organized by the Egyptian University Sports Federation (EUSF) or the summer or winter Olympic Games.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Register for a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application and to maintain the scholarship.

Scholarship Coverage

15% of tuition for a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.

How to Apply?

  1. Log in to Banner Self-Service

  2. Go to “Student Awards and Financial Aid”  then choose “Apply for Award”

  3. Select the  “Financial Year 2025-2026” then select the application form “Donor/AUC Funded Scholarship Application for Current Students”

  4. Make sure to press the SUBMIT button after filling all sections of the application. All athletics scholarships are evaluated by the Office of Student Financial Affairs and Scholarships and the Office of Athletics at the end of the spring semester each year for consideration for renewal.

Additional Requirement for the Athletic Scholarship: 

  • An official letter issued by the federation of the sport, which must be endorsed by the concerned sports union, the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, and/or the Olympic Committee. School competitions are not accepted.
  • In case of achieving a ranking in the Universities Championship under the Office of Athletic, an official signed and stamped letter from the AUC Office of Athletics is required

AUC Green Scholarship

The AUC Green Scholarship is made possible through funds collected by the University through fines assessed against individuals who have violated the University’s smoke free campus policy. The scholarship is awarded to students who can demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility and sustainability through previous action, and a commitment during the academic year that are receiving the scholarship to work with various units under the umbrella of the Office of the Dean of Students, and with prior approval from the Dean of Students, any academic department which would help support their efforts. This scholarship may be awarded to up to three students per academic year.  

Amounts awarded are subject to availability of funds and will not be in excess of $1,000 based on financial need and the merit of the proposed activity by the applicant. Recipients of these scholarships are eligible to receive this scholarship for no more than two academic years. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be in good academic and social standing in the academic year in which the scholarship is to be applied.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 upon being awarded the scholarship and during their tenure as a recipient.
  • Commit to engaging in campus wide efforts or campaigns that revolve around themes falling under social responsibility and/or sustainability by submitting a proposal as part of their application process. The proposal should contain ideas for implementable activities and not studies or research papers.
  • Participate in an interview and Q&A session with the selection committee.

Selection Criteria

  • Merit of the proposal submitted
  • History of prior engagement with subject of the proposal
  • Financial need
  • History of involvement and impact with AUC co and/or extracurricular activities 

Scholarship Coverage

  • Up to $1,000 to be applied to tuition and fees.

Important Notes 

  • Recipients may receive the scholarship for no more than two academic years

  • Recipients who fail to maintain the eligibility requirements and commitments made as part of receiving the scholarship will lose eligibility to apply for the scholarship for the remainder of their tenure as AUC students, and may have their award suspended for the following semester when applicable.

Additional Requirements for the AUC Green Scholarship 

  • PowerPoint presentation - no more than 10 minutes (pdf format) or
  • Video presentation - no more than 10 minutes (Word document containing link to video) or 
  • Written proposal - no more than three pages double spaced (Word or pdf format).

Important Note: Applicants who do not upload any of the required documents or put their uploaded documents in the wrong section will not be considered.
