Thanks to the generous support of our donors, The American University in Cairo offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities funded by individuals and corporations. These prestigious awards enable AUC to attract, retain, and support qualified students, empowering them to pursue their academic goals and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

 

AUC Alumni Endowed Scholarships

This scholarship was established in 1983 to partially support Egyptian and Arab children of AUC alumni.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Egyptian or Arab
  • One of the parents should be an alumnus/a of AUC
  • Demonstrate high academic achievement
  • Demonstrate financial need

Scholarship Coverage

  • Partial tuition coverage

How to Apply

  1. Log in to Banner Self-Service
  2. Go to Student Awards and Financial Aid then choose Apply for Award
  3. Select the Financial Year 2025-2026 then select the application form Undergraduate Scholarship Application for Current Students
  4. Make sure to press the submit button after filling all sections of the application

Eng. Salah Diab Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2025 to partially support undergraduate students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Any
  • Declared in one of the following majors: Multimedia Communication and Journalism or Engineering
  • Demonstrate high academic achievement
  • Demonstrate financial need

Scholarship coverage

  • Partial tuition coverage

How to Apply

Gretchen and David Welch Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2023 to partially support undergraduate students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Any
  • Declared in one of the following majors: Islamic Art, Architecture, Urban Planning, Visual or Theatre Arts
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Demonstrate academic merit

  • Partial tuition coverage

This scholarship was established in 2023 to partially support undergraduate students preferably from Upper Egypt.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Egyptian, preferably from Upper Egypt
  • Declared major: Any
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Demonstrate academic merit

Omnia Abdullah Bakhsh '98 Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2020 to support one undergraduate student majoring in any of the engineering fields.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Any.
  • Declared major: One of the Engineering fields.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Demonstrate academic merit.

  • Full tuition coverage

This scholarship was established in 2013 to provide partial tuition to undergraduate students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Any
  • Declared major: Petroleum Engineering
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Have a minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.4

The Student Union Scholarship 

This scholarship is to partially support undergraduate students for one semester only.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Any
  • Priority will be given to applicants with the highest financial need and who are approaching graduation.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Academic merit with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Students must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits per semester

Personal statement for the previous semester highlighting involvement in OSL-sponsored clubs or other related extracurricular activities.

Zeid Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2023 to partially undergraduate students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Any.
  • Declared major: All majors except Engineering majors.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Demonstrate academic merit.

  • Partial tuition coverage.
