Non-degree and Auditors

Non-degree students are not limited to a fixed set of undergraduate courses and are not affiliated with a study-abroad program.

Admission to this program is selective.

Since AUC is accredited in both the United States and Egypt, students from US universities are usually able to transfer AUC credits to their home institutions, but students are advised to check in advance.

  • Non-degree students must submit the same application credentials as degree-seeking students.
  • Successful applicants must have completed 30 credit hours as indicated in their post-secondary transcripts and must have a satisfactory grade point average (GPA).
  • Students from non-English language universities, submit either valid international TOEFL or IELTS scores for admission consideration. A minimum of 83 in TOEFL total score and 22 in writing or a minimum of 6.5 in IELTS band score and 7 in writing is required

Upon submitting the application for the undergraduate degree-seeking program, the University may approve a change of status from a non-degree to degree-seeking student according to the availability of places. The department of major will consider accepting credit hours for courses taken as a non-degree student.

All academic regulations applicable to degree-seeking students will apply retroactively with such a change of status.

  • Individuals wishing to attend classes without receiving academic credit are not required to fulfill AUC's admissions requirements.
  • Auditors should submit an application form, application fee, and one passport-size photo.
  • Admissions decisions are made during the first week of classes each semester and are dependent upon space availability and approval of the department chair and the course instructor.
  • Auditors are allowed to attend a maximum of two courses (six credit hours) per semester.
