The purpose of this contest is to create a comic strip that explores the theme of "everyday integrity", showing how honesty, responsibility and ethical choices can be powerful in daily life. Uncover your inner superhero and bring to life the strength of doing what is right, even when no one is watching!

We are looking for thoughtful, creative submissions that reflect your authentic perspective as a student. This is your chance to craft a message that is personally meaningful and rooted in your own experiences within the university context and your understanding of integrity. The most compelling entries will emphasize human connection, emotional impact, original storytelling and a clear message.

Make your comic strip brief, visually engaging and convey a powerful and clear message about academic integrity.

Submissions will be judged on the following:

  • Connection to theme
  • Clear and meaningful message
  • Originality
  • Creativity and design
  • Alignment with academic integrity values
  • Evidence of human-led design

Responsible use of AI tools:

This is an academic integrity contest. Submissions should reflect your own original ideas and creative expression.

What does responsible use of AI tools look like for this contest?

  • Students must clearly declare any use of AI tools in their submission form
  • If AI was used (e.g., for brainstorming, layout suggestions, coloring or image refinement), you must specify the name of the tool and exactly how it was used
  • Explain how you meet the requirement to make this primarily a human creation and explain how the AI-generated images or texts do not form the majority of your creative output
  • We appreciate that AI tools are available that can generate a comic strip from an AI prompt. We are seeking additional evidence of human thought, creativity and engagement. Comic strips that are fully AI-generated are unlikely to win a prize

Remember: The goal is to celebrate your ideas and voice, not those of a machine. Use AI as a tool, not a substitute for your creativity and ethical expression.

Prize

  • Prize will be awarded according to the judging criteria and the best submission will receive a gift card of up to $150
  • The winning student will have the opportunity to compete in an international contest and potentially win additional prizes

Deadline

Deadline for Post Submissions

Submissions should be sent at 11:59 at [email protected].

  • Format:
    • Approximately one “letter” size comic strip (8.5x11 inches) or A4 page (21cm x 27.9 cm)
    • Minimum 6-panel comic strip
    • Comic strip should include a title, your name(s) and your institution
    • You may opt to use the provided Canva Template: Canva 6-Panel Comic Strip Template
    • Digital or hand-drawn images will be accepted
    • Accepted file types: PDF, JPEG or PNG
    • No video submissions will be accepted
  • Declaration of AI: Students must indicate in the submission form:
    • Whether any AI tools were used
    • The name(s) of the tools

A brief explanation of how they were used in the process.

 

  • The submission must be original and abide by the U.S. Copyright Law and any appropriate copyright law in your jurisdiction. You must have permission to use and share any images included in your entry

  • Students consent to ICAI reproducing their submission on different websites and platforms, for education and/or promotional purposes

     

  • It is assumed that each creator or participant has given their permission to AUC the “right to reproduce, redact for personalization, archive and communicate their submission for education or academic research purposes.”

  • The student who submitted grants AUC the right to edit and reproduce submissions at their discretion.

  • The student who submitted acknowledges that AUC:

    • Has no responsibility for any liability, loss or injury, howsoever arising, which entrants may incur or suffer in carrying out any task or activity associated with or consequent upon preparation of their submission.

    • Has the right to disqualify any entry based on non-compliance with the submission criteria or any copyright infringements.

    • Will not be liable for copyright infringement on the part of the participants.

  • The AUC committee reserves the right to cancel or modify this competition, not distribute any awards or not endorse or publish any contest submission.
  • AUC reserves the right to only award one prize per winning individual or group submission regardless of the number submitted.
  • Judges will evaluate the entries and decide the winners at their sole discretion. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
