Biotechnology Alumna Busts Myths, Shares Facts on COVID-19

Reem Al Olaby (MSc ’11, PHD ’14) is an assistant professor of biology and biotechnology at California Northstate University. She recently created these videos busting myths surrounding COVID-19 and explaining the use of Hydroxychloroquine to treat patients with COVID-19. 

 

 

During her time at AUC, Al Olaby, recipient of the Yousef Jameel PhD Fellowship in Applied Sciences and Engineering and the Nadhmi Auchi Young Arab Leaders Fellowship, researched drug leads to fight hepatitis C and malaria, in collaboration with prestigious institutions including Caltech, Stanford and Johns Hopkins universities. Her other research interests include breast cancer and the genetics of autism spectrum disorder.
