How to Establish a Partnership with AUC?
International University Partnership Clearance Process
AUC welcomes discussions on possibilities for institutional collaboration if these bolster AUC’s institutional goals and vision and if there is a strong interest and commitment among our faculty, students and staff to support such a relationship.
Steps for Submitting a Partnership Proposal
Due to the high volume of new partnership requests, the maintenance of current partnerships, and the nature of evaluating partnership proposals, prospective partners and/or AUC faculty or staff should anticipate at least 4-8 weeks for final clearance.
- Communicate your interest in developing an international partnership with your department and School’s leadership. Share with your leadership all potential financial commitments that the department or School will be responsible for.
- Schedule a brief consultation with IPSO’s Senior Manager of Partnerships. This is required for any department or School wanting to establish a student exchange partnership. Student exchanges must meet the guidelines outlined in the Partnership Proposal form.
- Complete the Partnership Proposal form (for internal AUC stakeholders) and submit to Senior Manager of Partnerships ([email protected]). For supporting signatures, you can copy your department chair and dean on the email. When submitting this form, please include any related documents (e.g., agreement templates from the partner).
Once the Senior Manager of Partnerships receives the Partnership Proposal form, they will work with you to edit the partner or AUC’s agreement template. Next, they will contact the relevant offices for clearances. This may include but is not limited to IT, Legal, Registrar, Accounting etc. Any edits made will require consultation with the prospective partner and their respective internal offices. Because of this, the clearance process can take several weeks.
- After final approval is determined by all parties, the Senior Manager of Partnerships will submit the agreement for final signatures by AUC’s Provost. After receiving final signatures from both the partner’s signatory and AUC’s provost, the Senior Manager will upload the agreement in AUC’s partnership database.
- Prospective partners looking to develop a student mobility agreement should first complete the Partnership Proposal form (for external parties). Upon completion, please submit to the Senior Manager of Partnerships ([email protected]). Should a prospective partner seek to develop another type of partnership (e.g., MOU for research or faculty exchange), we recommend contacting individual departments or Schools to determine if there is a strong interest that aligns with these units. From there, the respective AUC representative should follow the steps above.
- For partners wanting to develop a student exchange agreement, once IPSO receives the Partnership Proposal form, they will schedule a virtual consultation meeting to determine if there is alignment between institutions.
International Visitors
AUC welcomes visits from existing or prospective partner universities, which may include campus tours, class visits, and meetings with campus stakeholders.
University representatives should complete a Visitor Request Form at least one month prior to arrival in Cairo.
The International Programs and Services Office (IPSO) will make every effort to accommodate visits based on staff availability. We kindly ask representatives to schedule visits around AUC’s office hours Sunday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm) and local holidays.
