About CLT

The mission of the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) at AUC is to help create a stimulating learning environment by promoting excellence in teaching, by facilitating the effective application of technology to the teaching and learning process, by providing support and resources and by engaging in outreach activities.

CLT provides faculty members with support and resources to help them enhance the quality of instruction at AUC. In addition, CLT provides targeted expertise and training to faculty members, enabling them to integrate innovation into their pedagogic approaches and teaching strategies.

CLT keeps a spotlight on teaching through a variety of programs, services, workshops and lectures, including orientations for new faculty, a bi-weekly newsletter, instructional design consultations, and the Student Technology Assistant program, which provides one-on-one training and support for faculty members who want to innovate their teaching style by using diverse instructional technologies.

CLT goals revolve around enhancing excellence in teaching by:

  • Providing services and programs to engage and support the development of faculty members as professional educators.
  • Providing services and programs to assist and support faculty members to integrate instructional technologies into their teaching strategies.
  • Developing and enhancing outreach, engagement and collaboration.
  • Sustaining the high-quality delivery of services to faculty members through the efficient and effective professional development of CLT staff members.
