Important Announcement

Due to severe inconsistencies and the multiplicity of international decisions, here is a summary of the suspended flights until further notice:

Washington: Egyptair will operate direct flights between Cairo and Washington, D.C. Dulles Airport  as follows:

  • Cairo - Washington: April 1, 2020, and April 3, 2020 at 11:00 am eligible mainly for American citizens with some allowance for legal permanent residents
  • Washington - Cairo: April 2, 2020 and April 4, 2020 at 12:50 pm eligible mainly for Egyptians. To book your ticket, contact Egyptair. If you are calling from an Egyptian landline, dial 0900 70000 or dial 1717 if you are calling from a mobile number. If you are calling from the United States, dial +1 800 334 6787.

Important notes for travelers who will return to Cairo from the United States:

  1. They should hold an Egyptian passport
  2. Their stay in the United States should be temporarily and do not have residency there
  3. They should be able to pay the cost of the airline ticket 
  4. Self-quarantine should be applied upon their arrival for 14 days 

Send full details including full name, place, contact number, email, reason for your stay, date of arrival and passport number with date of expiry to the Egyptian Consulate at consulate@egyptembassy.net. 

London: A flight from London will be operating on March 31, 2020, departing from Heathrow at 3:00 pm for Egyptians wishing to return from London to Cairo.

KSA: All international flights to/from Saudi Arabia are suspended for two weeks starting from Sunday, March 15, 2020.

Khartoum: All flights between Sudan and Egypt are suspended.

Kuwait: All international flights to/from Kuwait are suspended from March 8, 2020until further notice.

Juba: All direct flights between South Sudan and Egypt are suspended from March 13, 2020 until further notice.

Tunis: Private and business flights to/from (Italy, France, Spain, Egypt, Germany, and Great Britain) are suspended. Passenger Transit coming from (France, Spain, Egypt, Germany, and Great Britain) are suspended effective immediately until April 4, 2020.

Hong Kong: EgyptAir operation to/from Hong Kong is suspended from March 17, 2020, till the end of May 2020. Cargo flights operation remain unchanged with a weekly flight.

Jordan: All international flights to/from Jordan are suspended effective March 17, 2020, until further notice.

Lebanon: All flights suspended from March 17 - March 23, 2020.

Cyprus: From March 15, 2020 and for 15 days, a prohibition of entry is applicable to any citizen, regardless of nationality.

Turkey:  All flights are suspended from March 17 - April 17, 2020.

Egypt: All international flights to /from all Egyptian airports are suspended, Except cargo flights From March 19 until April 15  

Israel: Israel denies entry from Egypt to Israel for all passengers and crew, even if in connection transit if they were physically present in Egypt with the last 14 days to their entry to Israel.

Morocco: All flights to/from Morocco are suspended from March 15 - March 31, 2020. 

Algeria: All international flights to/from Algeria are temporarily suspended starting from March 18, 2020, until further notice.

Etihad Airways: From March 25, 2020, Etihad Airways will temporarily suspend all flights to, from and via Abu Dhabi.

Air Malta: Suspends all flights to Switzerland, Germany, France, and Spain.

British Airways: Announced that the only approved US airports where exempted passengers can be permitted are: John F. Kennedy, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington, Newark, Dallas, Boston, and Miami. 

South African Airlines: South African Airways (SAA) will immediately suspend all regional and international operations until the end of May

The Travel Office was established to help faculty and staff members, administrators and students with their travel plans.

It handles business and personal trips, in Egypt or abroad through our corporate deals with excellent hotels, and monitors policies set by the administration for these types of travel.

The office also arranges meet-and-assist services through customs and immigration arranged at the airport in accordance with the guidelines governing the provisions of such services. (Services are available upon request for non-Egyptians only).

This profile will be filled once and will be saved and used for all your future travel requests. It can be edited at any time.

Once you fill a new travel request, you will receive an auto-reply with a request serial number, which should be referenced in all communications with the travel office until the service is fulfilled.
