AUC Student Medical Insurance – Fall 2026

Health Insurance Table of Benefits

 

Who is Automatically Enrolled?

  • All Egyptian students (ages 0–64) are automatically enrolled
  • This also applies to faculty and staff dependents registered in the current semester
  • Cost: $55 per semester (Fall 2026)
  • Insurance provider: GlobeMed/Libano-Suisse

You do not need to take any action to be enrolled unless you wish to apply for an exemption.

 

Exemption (Opt-Out) – Who Can Apply?

You can apply for an exemption only if you already have a health insurance plan that is equivalent or superior to AUC’s plan. Your plan must include:

  • Annual coverage: At least EGP 200,000 or more
  • Inpatient care: Hospital admission, ambulance, emergency room
  • Outpatient care: Doctor visits, medications

How to Apply for Exemption

  1. Fill out the online exemption Google Form sent to your AUC email address from studentinsurance@aucegypt.edu on/before the deadline below.
  2. Deadline: September 13, 2026, at 12 pm (Cairo time)

You need to attach the following documents:

  • A valid insurance card showing your full name and coverage dates
    • If the dates are not printed, request an email confirmation from your insurance company (from the company email domain).
  • The insurance policy document showing the annual coverage ceiling
    • If it is not written, request an email confirmation from your company (from the company email domain).

Important note: If your documents are incomplete or unclear, you will be automatically enrolled and charged. You will receive no notification.
