U.S. University Leaders Visit AUC to Learn About IBC Model, 100 Years of Operating in Egypt

AUC hosted leaders of U.S. universities to share its expertise on the International Branch Campus model, its 100 years of operating in Egypt and best practices.  

 

The visit is part of a six-day tour, where a delegation of senior administrators from U.S. universities met with public and private universities as well as government entities in Egypt. A summit was held on the last day to discuss mutual cooperation opportunities.

 

Participating U.S. universities included the University of Maryland - Baltimore County, University of Maryland - School of Medicine, Washington State University, Kent State University, University of Rochester, University of New Orleans, Bard College, College of Mount Saint Vincent, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Texas International Education Consortium.

 

AMIDEAST Egypt launched the tour for U.S. university leaders in accordance with the Sustainable Development Strategy: Egypt’s Vision 2030 and to serve as a catalyst for international partnerships between Egypt and the United States in academia and research, in addition to creating valuable networking opportunities. The program is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and funded by the U.S. Department of State.
