Five Sciences, Engineering Alumni Featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2021

Forbes Middle East recently identified 30 promising innovators under 30 years old from the region who have proven their ability to accomplish major feats and make a difference despite their age. Leading representation on the list is Egypt, with eight individuals. Jordan and Lebanon follow with four. The list features five AUC alumni this year.

Salem is the CFO of Swvl, a Dubai-based global tech startup that provides a semi-private alternative to public transportation. The 28-year-old graduated AUC with a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science.

Alain El Hajj, Mostafa Menessy, Islam Shawky

El Hajj, Menessy and Shawky founded Paymob, a digital payment facilitator leading in the region's fintech industry. El Hajj, the company's COO, and Menessy, the CTO, both graduated from AUC with a Bachelor of Science in computer science. CEO Shawky received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from AUC.

Marc Banoub

Banoub, who graduated from AUC with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, is the CEO and founder of LyRise, an AI & data talent solution company.
