100 Years of the Caravan Exhibit

Claire Davenport
February 25, 2019

The Caravan began in 1925 and was originally called The AUC Review. In its centennial year, AUC is honoring the well-established student publication, hosting a 100 Years of the Caravan -- opening February 17 in The Photographic Gallery. The exhibit will showcase 100 cover pages from 1925 - 2018.

"During this centennial year, the Caravan Exhibit is an especially auspicious moment to make visible the monumental importance of the Rare Books and Special Collections Library. University archives serve as the guardians of institutional memory while also assuming the critical role as the purveyors of information about the past.  The Caravan which began in 1925, shines a critical spotlight on student writing and reporting. This Exhibit further showcases numerous events that have occurred across the history of the American University in Cairo; within Egypt; the region and the world."

-- Doris Jones, senior instructor II, Department of Rhetoric and Composition
