AUC Hosts Harvard Business Students For Global Leadership Collaboration
In a partnership to build tomorrow’s global leaders, the Onsi Sawiris School of Business at The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) hosted a special session for 66 visiting MBA students from Harvard Business School (HBS) as part of their FIELD Global Capstone course. The session, titled Customer Interaction Debrief, took place at AUC New Cairo campus recently and brought together Harvard MBA students and Onsi Sawiris School of Business students, entrepreneurs and affiliates to reflect on real-world customer interactions and explore emerging market opportunities. The event opened with a talk by Egypt’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, and concluded with a networking reception, giving participants the chance to exchange ideas, build connections, and celebrate a shared commitment to education, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
“Onsi Sawiris School of Business is delighted to once again collaborate with Harvard Business School in shaping future global business leaders,” said Sherif Kamel, dean of Onsi Sawiris School of Business. “The exchange of ideas and perspectives during this session exemplifies the power of cross-border learning, innovation and the opportunities lying ahead to collaborate for a better future.”
Harvard Business School’s FIELD Global Capstone is a required course for first-year MBA students that challenges them to lead and deliver value in unfamiliar contexts. In 2025, students will travel to 15 cities around the world, work with Global Partner companies, and engage with leading institutions like the Onsi Sawiris School of Business to gain a deeper understanding of diverse markets. During their time in Cairo, the HBS students worked closely with prominent Egyptian companies on hands-on projects aimed at developing new products, services, or customer experiences.
“We are immensely grateful to Onsi Sawiris School of Business for their partnership,” said Professor Joe Fuller, faculty chair of FIELD Global Capstone. “This collaboration adds immeasurable value to our students’ learning and reflects the kind of global engagement we strive to cultivate at Harvard Business School.”
The Customer Interaction Debrief gave HBS students the opportunity to share early insights and gain feedback from Onsi Sawiris School of Business participants, whose deep understanding of the local market proved invaluable. By hosting this event, the Onsi Sawiris School of Business reaffirmed its commitment to its partnership with Harvard Business School, offering students valuable opportunities for global exposure and professional growth.
