AUC’s Women on Boards Observatory Announces: Over 400 Egyptian Board Ready Women Qualified to Support FRA Regulation

The Women on Boards Observatory at The American University in Cairo (AUC) announced that its Board Ready Women database now has more than 400 qualified women to serve on corporate boards, including at least 150 women who already have board experience.

The qualified women's experience covers sectors as diverse as textiles, pharmaceuticals, engineering, agriculture, and energy, and their expertise ranges from finance to marketing and law. The Observatory offers board placement service for companies to comply with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) regulation to have one woman on the board by the end of 2020. Companies can submit The Board Placement Company's online Request Form to request a board member's nomination, including the required competencies. A shortlist of women candidates is then sent to the company for consideration.

The Women on Boards Observatory was founded in 2017 by a consortium initiated by The American University in Cairo, School of Business.
