Arab Media & Society Achieves Q1 Ranking In Scopus 2025 Citescore

Cairo, June 28, 2026 - Arab Media & Society, the peer-reviewed journal of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism at the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo, has been ranked as a Q1 journal in the category of Literature and Literary Theory in Scopus's 2025 CiteScore rankings. The ranking places Arab Media & Society among the top 25% of journals in the field, reflecting its sustained commitment to rigorous scholarly inquiry.

“This achievement is a testament to the quality and impact of the research our contributors bring to the field,” said Dr. Hussein Amin, editor-in-chief of the journal and director of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism. “It affirms the journal’s role as an essential resource for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers working at the intersection of media and society in the Arab world.”

This latest recognition builds on a growing record of international scholarly distinction. In May 2026, Arab Media & Society also achieved a Q2 ranking in SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), further cementing its position within the global academic community.

Arab Media & Society is a leading resource for media and communication research in the region. Published biannually in both Arabic and English in print and online, the journal offers peer-reviewed scholarly research and analysis on a wide array of topics pertaining to the dynamic media landscape across the Arab world.
