Sociology - Minor

Program Overview

AUC’s broad-based liberal arts education allows you to diversify your learning with a minor or two — helping you develop skills complementary to your primary area of study and demonstrating to potential employers that you have range.

Experience the power of social analysis with a minor in sociology. The program offers an introduction to the central concepts and methods of the field, with an emphasis on the theoretical perspectives used to study society, culture and the individual. Not only will you gain a deeper understanding of the world around you, but the program also prepares you for a variety of exciting career paths. With the possibility of pursuing advanced graduate work in sociology or related fields, the minor also trains you for employment in international development agencies, government, nongovernmental organizations or the private sector in social and community services or research and managerial positions.
