Rana Abdelaziz

Rana Abdelaziz holds a doctorate in statistics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, where she has served as an assistant professor since 2019. In addition, she has been an adjunct faculty member at The American University in Cairo, Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science. Her research spans mathematical statistics, reliability engineering, lifetime distribution theory, accelerated life testing, competing risks analysis and dependence modeling, with a methodological emphasis on statistical inference under different censoring schemes. She has contributed to the field through publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and actively serves as a peer reviewer for several scientific journals. In addition to her research interests in statistics, she has passed the preliminary examinations of the Society of Actuaries.
Abdelaziz was selected as deputy director of the Center for Surveys and Statistical Applications at Cairo University in 2026. She has taught a broad range of undergraduate and graduate statistics courses including statistical inference, probability theory, reliability studies. advanced reliability analysis, statistics for Bubiness statistics for economists, applied statistics for political science, numerical analysis and statistical packages. She has also taught actuarial science courses, including financial mathematics and short-term actuarial mathematics. She has received Certificates of Merit and Excellence from Cairo University in recognition of her scholarly contributions to internationally published research.
