Nidaa Aboulhosn is a Lebanese-American visual artist working across photography, drawing, time-based media and bookmaking. Her photobook How to Persist in the Superposition, published by Sinkhole Press in New York, draws on theoretical physics, metaphysics and mystical inquiry to contemplate multiple realities and suspended possibilities. Alongside this work, she creates cartoons and publishes the zine Neutrino and the Waiting Machine, where absurd characters reflect on the world through humor and whimsy. Her current artistic inquiry explores how perception is shaped through light and sound, using image and audio to investigate frequency, resonance and the relationship between physical phenomena and experience.

Aboulhosn's work has been exhibited internationally in institutions and galleries including the Phoenix Art Museum, the Johnson Museum of Art and Northlight Gallery. Her research has been supported by the Cornell Council for the Arts Project Development and Exhibition Grant. She has received honorable mentions from Light Work and the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center, commended by the associate curator of photography at MoMA. Her book Kharita was nominated for the Star Photobook Award, Photographic Social Vision. She has been awarded artist residencies at Cal Gras in Catalonia and AiR351 in Lisbon, among others.

Before joining The American University in Cairo, Aboulhosn was a visiting lecturer at Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art and Planning for over five years. She was also an assistant professor of photography at Ithaca College in New York and at the American University of Beirut.
