Nadine Barakat is an assistant professor in the Psychology Program at The American University in Cairo. She teaches biological psychology and methods in neuroscience. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in neuroscience from Université Lyon 1. Her research examines suicidal behavior in young adults, focusing on transdiagnostic features such as impulsivity. She also studies non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, particularly transcranial magnetic stimulation, in clinical populations, including patients with borderline personality disorder. Barakat is committed to bringing evidence-based, methodologically rigorous teaching to AUC's next generation of psychology and neuroscience students.
