Move-Out Guidelines
Step 1: Process Initiation
Begin your move-out process by stopping at the reception desk to inform the reception staff.
Step 2: Checkout Procedure
- Remove all your belongings from your room and shared spaces, including lounges, bathrooms, kitchens and corridors.
- Dispose of all trash and clean your room. The Office of Residential Life will charge a $30 cleaning fee to the room resident(s) if the room is left unclean.
Note: All occupants of an apartment are responsible for cleaning the apartment’s shared spaces before departing, regardless of individual checkout dates. - Place the extra bedding set inside the closet.
- Leave the bedroom key in the door lock on the inside of the room and ensure that all windows and the apartment door are securely closed (applicable only to near-campus building residents).
- Stop by the reception desk to fill out the move-out form.
- Request a storage appointment if needed (see storage process below).
- Request club cars for assistance with belongings (see club cars procedures below).
Important Note:
The Office of Residential Life will assess the room/apartment for cleanliness and damage within 12 hours of departure. The Office of Residential Life will post any applicable fees to the resident’s banner account within four weeks of checkout. Residents are responsible for settling outstanding fees prior to the next move-in date.
Club Cars
Club cars are available for on-campus residents to transport luggage and belongings from Friday, December 19 to Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The club car route operates from the residence entrance to EP1 Gate only.
Move-Out Dates and Approved Extensions
The last day of Fall 2025 occupancy and the deadline to move out of the residences is Tuesday, December 23, 2025 by 12 pm.
Students who need to stay beyond this date due to academic commitments or other legitimate reasons must send an email to reslife@aucegypt.edu by 4 pm on December 10, 2025 to request approval for an extended stay. The Office of Residential Life must review and approve the request before an extension can be granted.
Failure to move out by the designated date without prior approval will result in a $27 per-night fee charged to the resident’s banner account.
Storage Service and Schedule of Operation
To place your belongings in storage, contact the appropriate reception desk (listed below) to schedule a storage appointment. A storage appointment is required.
The reception desk will confirm your appointment time and the availability of the storage coordinator.

Note the following:
- The storage service is available only for students returning to the student residences for Spring 2026.
- You may delegate a room or apartment mate to assist with storing your boxes. Include the name and University student identification number of the person storing your items on the checkout form.
- Storage boxes are available at the reception desk to facilitate packing. Ensure that all boxes are securely sealed.
- You will receive a receipt for all stored boxes upon drop-off.
- Community donation boxes are available at the reception desk for items in good condition that you no longer need.
- Items left behind in the room or apartment will be disposed of.
- Check the storage terms and conditions. They are also posted on the wall at the entrance to the storage rooms.
