Mr. Ali Faramawy

Mr. Ali Faramawy is a strategic adviser, board member and social entrepreneur. Most recently, he was Microsoft’s corporate vice president, digital transformation partnerships. In July 2021, he became corporate vice president, strategic adviser, industry solutions group. He joined Microsoft in 1997 as the general manager of Microsoft Egypt. In May 2002, Faramawy was named the regional director for sales, marketing and services for a newly consolidated Microsoft Middle East and Africa. Later in 2004, Faramawy was promoted to president of Microsoft Middle East and Africa and, in 2011, to corporate vice president of Microsoft Corporation. Faramawy holds a BSc in engineering from the University of Alexandria, majoring in computer science and automatic control, and an MBA in strategic marketing from the University of Hull. Faramawy serves on the AUC School of Business’s Dean’s Advisory Board.
