Sports Facilities Reservations
To reserve any of our facilities, fill in this online form.
- Appropriate workout attire is required to use the weight room and all other areas of the AUC Sports Center. No jeans, or sandals are bare feet permitted for safety reasons.
- If you are seen wearing improper shoes and attire, you will be asked to leave the sports center.
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the courts.
- Do not enter the room while classes are in progress.
- No one is allowed to teach without permission.
- Take off your shoes when you use the mattresses.
- Equipment may be checked out at the control desk inside the cardio room, requiring a valid AUC ID.
- Failure to follow posted policies may result in the forfeit of access privileges to the sports center.
- Follow requests of AUC Sports Center's staff at all times.
- Do not leave your items anywhere, and keep them with you all the time.

- Students, faculty, staff and alumni who have access to campus can use the gym through AUC Connect.
- To register for gym usage, members of the AUC should be added to the AUC Connect, where they can sign up for the facility.
- It is recommended to sign up one day in advance to use the gym.
- The opening hours for the gym will be displayed on AUC Connect.
- Up to 60 individuals can register to use the gym at any given time.
- Appropriate workout attire is required to use the weight room and all other areas of the AUC Sports Center. (No jeans, sandals and bare feet permitted for safety reasons.)

- Do not leave your items anywhere, and keep them with you all the time.
- Do not ask the staff to secure or watch your items. They cannot accept responsibility for personal bags, purses and so on.
- Follow requests of AUC Sports Center's staff at all times.
- Equipment may be checked out at the control desk inside the cardio room, requiring a valid AUC ID.
- A valid membership is required for part-time faculty, staff and alumni per AUC policy. Be prepared to show a valid AUC ID with a membership sticker upon request.
- Failure to follow posted policies may result in the forfeit of access privileges to the sports center.
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the gym and other courts.
- Children are not allowed to be without parents inside the courts.
- Smoking is not allowed.
Taking care of your medical health and status is your personal responsibility. If you have any medical concerns, it is essential to consult with your doctor and ensure that you are fit for exercising.
Note that all athletics staff are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid. Safety is of utmost importance to us.

- Students, faculty, staff and alumni who have access to the campus can use the outdoor fields and courts without registering for AUC Connect.
- The outdoor fields are available from 8:30 am to 9:45 pm, although the schedule is subject to change.
- Individuals with heart disease or diabetes, high or low blood pressure, circulatory or respiratory problems, seizures, epilepsy, pregnant women, and those who are using prescribed or illegal drugs or under the influence of alcohol should not use the sauna.
- Children under the age of 10 years are not allowed in the sauna.
- Children between the age of 10-14 years should be accompanied by and adult in the sauna at all times.
- Appropriate clothing, such as a bathing suit, must be worn in the sauna.
- Individuals must shower before using the sauna.
- No newspapers, magazines or any paper products are allowed in the sauna.
- Individuals must wear or sit on a towel to protect the wood from perspiration.
- Limit your exposure to 15 minutes only. In case you feel dizzy or faint, you should leave the sauna immediately and consult a physician before returning.
- Allow a 5-minute cooling period after exiting the sauna.
- Drink plenty of water before and after using the sauna.
- Remove all jewelry before using the sauna.
- Strenuous exercise is prohibited in the sauna.
- Do not smoke, eat or drink in the sauna room.
- Do not leave your clothes to dry inside the sauna room.
- Do not touch the rocks or other parts of the theater inside the sauna room. The sauna heater temperature can reach 90 Degrees Celsius (194 F).
- Do not put water or any other substance on the sauna heater.
- Do not tamper with the sensor bulb under any circumstances. The sensor coordinates the temperature in the sauna, and plugging it can cause accidents.
Important Note: Individuals with medical conditions should consult a physician before using the sauna room.

The Office of Athletics provides squash rackets to be checked out for daily usage for all AUC community members Squash Racket Check-out policy. Due to the overwhelming damage and abuse of the Check-out Squash Rackets, changes have been made to the rules for obtaining a racket.
Do not take a racket if you do not agree to the following:
- Inspect the racket frame for any damage. Do not check out a racket that has any frame damage.
- All rackets will be inspected upon return, and any damage to the frame will be charged to the user.
- The replacement fee for a damaged table tennis racket is EGP 250. This applies to any degree of frame damage.
- Broken strings are not included in the policy.
- There will be no exceptions without direct approval from the director of athletics.
- The squash courts can accommodate up to 8 individuals at a time, with two people per court.
We encourage all players to purchase their own table tennis racket so they will not be disappointed when coming to play. We also strongly encourage the use of approved eye guards for your safety. If you do not wish to follow this policy, do not check out table tennis racket.

- To register for the pool usage, members of the AUC should be added to the AUC Connect, where they can sign up for the facility.
- It is recommended to sign up one day in advance to use the swimming pool.
- The opening hours for the swimming pool will be displayed on AUC Connect.
- The pool can accommodate up to 25 people simultaneously
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, adhere to the following guidelines when using the pool facilities:
- Swimming is only permitted during the designated open hours. Refrain from entering the swimming pool when it is closed.
- A lifeguard must be present whenever the pool is in use. Follow the lifeguards' instructions and guidelines for your safety.
- Do not leave your items anywhere, and keep them with you all the time.
- Do not ask the staff to secure or watch your items. They cannot accept responsibility for personal bags, purses and so on.
- The minimum water depth of the pool is 2 meters. All swimmers must be capable of swimming in at least 50 meters unassisted. Lifeguard applicants may be required to undergo a swimming test.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in the pool deck area.
- Only water in plastic bottles is allowed in the pool deck. Food and any other drinks are not permitted.
- Access to the pool area is through the locker rooms.
- Individuals are asked to shower before using the pool to maintain cleanliness.
- Running or engaging in horseplay is not allowed on the pool deck to prevent accidents and ensure everyone's safety.
- Floats, rafts, inflatable items, and toys are not allowed on the pool deck.
- The use of starting blocks is exclusively limited to members of the AUC swim team.
- Refrain from hanging on the lane dividers to avoid damage or destruction.
- Appropriate swimming attire is required to use the pool. Wearing jeans or loose clothing on the pool deck area is not allowed.
- Adjust your swimming pace to match that of others on the swimming lane to maintain a smooth and harmonious swimming environment.
- The lifeguard has complete authority and must be obeyed at all times for the safety of all individuals using the pool.
- Children under the age of 17 years are not allowed to use any of the sports facilities without the presence of a parent or guardian.
- It is strictly prohibited to enter the swimming pool outside the opening hours.

- Limit your workouts to no more than 45 minutes on the treadmill and 30 minutes on elliptical machines when others are waiting.
- Do not remove free weights or other items from the weight room. Return weights and dumbbells to the racks after use.
- Follow requests of AUC Sports Center staff at all times.
- Equipment may be checked out at the control desk on ground level, requiring a valid AUC ID.
- A valid membership is required for alumni, per AUC policy. Be prepared to show a valid AUC ID with a membership sticker upon request.
- Failure to follow posted policies may result in the forfeit of access privileges to the sports center.
- It is not allowed to change your clothes at the Gym or to take off your T-shirt.
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the gym and other courts.
- Do not sit on the machines unless if you are using them.
- It is not allowed to bring personal stereos (iPod stations).
- Do not raise the volume of the TV.
- Do not throw the weights so hard on the floor to save the equipment from damage and the floor as well.
- All exercise areas, courts and gymnasiums close 15 minutes prior to the posted building closing time.
- Bring your towel with you and wipe the machine after using it.
- Children under 16 years are not allowed to get inside the workout room for their own safety.
- Smoking is not allowed.

A new system for daily-use lockers has been implemented to protect users’ belongings. The new rules are as follows:
- Users will receive two keys from the counter in exchange for their University ID. No extra copies will remain with the Office of Athletics staff members. Users must remove all items from the locker and return the two keys before they can receive their ID.
- In the event that users do not return the two keys, the Office of Athletics staff members will cut the lock on the locker, and an EGP 100 penalty will be charged to the user for the value of the damaged lock.
- An additional EGP 50 is to be charged for the storage of the user’s belongings. If users do not claim their belongings after 15 days, all stored items will be donated to charity.
- Each user should ensure that lockers are properly locked with the keys. The Office of Athletics is not responsible for the loss of any items.
- Smoking is not allowed inside the lockers.
- Nudity is forbidden.
- Daily use of some lockers available in designated sections of the main locker rooms may be used free of charge. You must furnish your Lock. Locker available for daily use marked. Only those lockers may be used for no charge.
- For daily use lockers, no items may be stored overnight in these lockers. Any lock not removed from a daily use locker at the end of each day will be cut off, and the contents will be stored until the end of the academic year in the sports center. Belongings may be retrieved upon payment of an EGP 50 service fee. Items not claimed within the academic year will be donated to charity.
- All Items stored must fit inside the locker. Storage of items outside the lockers is not permitted.
- Do not ask the attendees to store your items for you.
- Items left in the room outside the lockers at the close of the business day will be collected and discarded.
- If you have storage needs that cannot be met by the rental process, contact the main office.
- Children under 12 years are not permitted in the general locker rooms without direct supervision by an individual over 18 years old.
- Children under 16 years are not allowed in the steam room or the sauna area.
- To rent a locker, visit the Office of Athletics to learn more about the renting policy.
- The University is not responsible for personal items left in the lockers.
- Make sure to close your locker correctly using a secure lock.
- Do not bring valuables such as computers, large amounts of cash and so on to the sports center.
- Usage of the locker rooms requires patrons to abide by all posted regulations. These policies may be revised as needed. Any revisions will be displayed in the locker rooms and on the webpage.
- On rare occasions, access to men’s and women’s general locker rooms may be restricted due to national or international sporting events. These events and any following closure of the locker rooms these events require. Information will be posted well in advance.
- Report any suspicious activity to the staff at the control desks outside the locker rooms.
- All gym users are expected to clean the equipment after use by utilizing the provided spray sanitizers and paper towels.
- Proper equipment cleaning and pool water maintenance will be conducted during closing hours.
- Taking care of your medical health status is your personal responsibility. If you have any medical concerns or issues, it is essential to consult a doctor to ensure that you are fit to exercise.
- All athletics staff are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid. Safety is of utmost importance to us.
- Athletics staff will verify your reserved time via AUC Connect. Show the staff member at the door the confirmation email you received from AUC-Connect to check in.
- Leave your AUC ID card with our staff member and take a numbered card. Return the card to retrieve your AUC ID card when you leave.
- Keep your social distance at all times. Social distancing requires you and others to remain two meters apart at all times.
- The use of masks is required except when actively working out.
- No contact training.
- No equipment sharing (working in with others).

- Loss of ability to register on AUC Connect for two weeks.
- The student will be banned for the entire semester. If he/she is an athlete, they will have no access to the facilities for the entire semester, even to practice with the team. The team captain will be informed.
The operating hours for the gym rooms, including cardio and strength rooms and the pool , will be displayed on AUC Connect.
