Summer@AUC Internship
The Summer@AUC internship is a structured experiential learning program designed for high school and undergraduate students aged 16 and above. The internship offers selected participants the opportunity to engage in professional, academic and organizational activities that support the Summer@AUC program. Interns, after completing their training program, will contribute to classroom facilitation, assist in event coordination and provide logistical support, gaining practical insight into academic operations.
The training program includes an initial two-hour orientation session that introduces participants to the University environment, program objectives and expected standards of conduct. Each intern cohort participates in interactive workshops, focusing on leadership, teamwork, communication, professionalism and digital etiquette. The internship is designed to foster transferable skills, enhance career readiness and expose students to future academic and professional pathways.

Duration and Location
- Two weeks - The first week includes three workshop days, with the remaining days off. In the second week, the internship shifts to hands-on work experience for four or five full days, depending on the length of the workweek.
- Sessions will run from 08:30 am to 04:00 pm
- AUC New Cairo campus
- Fridays and Saturdays off

Certification
Bootcamp participants will receive a certificate of participation from AUC if they complete the three workshop days and at least three working days.
Transportation
The AUC Bus Service is available for an extra fee. Details on the schedule will be shared before the program's start date.
Accommodation
Accommodation is offered at the University Residences if needed.
About the Instructors
Yara Zidan
Yara Zidan teaches at the Academy of Liberal Arts, The American University in Cairo, in both the English Language Institute and the Core Curriculum Program. In parallel, Zidan is a teacher educator with the University’s Professional Educator Diploma, where she facilitates professional development modules for in-service educators in the STEAM and Teaching Adolescent Learners tracks. She holds both a master's and a PhD in applied linguistics and brings over 13 years of experience in higher education. Her curriculum design work includes contributing to the USAID Scholars Activity (EL-HUB) and serving as a subject matter expert for the University’s ATHAR Project, where she developed teacher training programs and digital learning materials tailored for large public-school classrooms in Egypt. A Fulbright alumna, her work centers on language and identity, literacy and advancing inclusive, learner-centered education.
Refund Policy
A 100 percent refund of the program fees will be granted if the request is submitted at least two weeks before the course start date, or if the request is due to one of the following reasons:
- Course cancellation
- Medical withdrawal
- Visa denial
A 75 percent refund will be granted if the request is submitted within the last two weeks before the course start date.
No refund will be issued if the request is submitted after the end of the last working day (4 pm) and before classes begin, including the weekend prior to the course start date, or after the course has begun.
