Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Students Program at AUC Provides Fellowships for Students from Jordan, Iraq And Morocco

Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate (TLG) students program at The American University in Cairo (AUC) is providing fellowships for students from Jordan, Iraq and Morocco to earn a master’s degree at the University in one of the following graduate programs: economics, international and comparative education, migration and refugee studies and nanotechnology.

The TLG students program covers full tuition fees for the fall and spring semesters, medical insurance, a monthly stipend, student housing, a laptop, internship/practicum opportunity and annual round-trip economy air tickets from home to campus.

“It gives me great pleasure to see how the Tomorrow’s Leaders program is expanding at AUC to offer more opportunities for graduate studies,” said Dina Adly, associate provost for sponsored programs at AUC. “We look forward to selecting more students from Iraq, Jordan and Morocco to join 17 currently admitted graduate students and over 40 undergraduate students from all over the MENA region,” said Adly.

Adam Eddouss, a graduate student from Tunisia who joined Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Program, said: “The TLG program has given me the chance to continue my academic, personal, and professional growth in countless ways.” Eddouss said the program has allowed him the opportunity to engage in research with excellent faculty, helped him secure an internship opportunity at an international NGO, and provided him with ongoing life-skills training and workshops.

Alaa Kasmo, a graduate student from Syria who joined Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Program, said: “The program has helped me expand my perspectives and experiences when it comes to leadership. It also provided me with the resources that I needed to carry on with my master’s. If you are looking for an opportunity to gain skills, to meet new people, and also to pursue new aspirations, this is the program for you.” She added: “I am so glad to be part of the TLG program and to be part of the AUC.”

Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate students program is a joint effort between the US Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA/AC), and AUC. TLG equips academically qualified and economically deserving students with the professional qualifications and experience needed to advance knowledge and contribute to socially relevant outcomes, through organized graduate study and research that furthers the professionalization of emerging leaders and proposes local solutions to shared problems in the MENA region. Since its launch in fall 2020, the program has accepted students from Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

Applications are open until 1 October 2021. For more information about the program, visit https://www.aucegypt.edu/admissions/fellowships/listings/tomorrows-leaders-graduate-program
