AUC’s Center of Excellence for Water Project Offers Scholarships for Public University Engineering Students

The Center of Excellence for Water Project at The American University in Cairo (AUC), a USAID-funded activity, launched the call for applications for "scholarships to study water Engineering" at Ain Shams and Alexandria universities for the academic year 2021-2022.

The scholarships provide a full four-year university study opportunity for undergraduate engineering students to study civil engineering, focusing on water in one of the study tracks in the credit hour programs for water engineering at Alexandria and Ain Shams universities.

Yasser El Shayeb, chief of party, Center of Excellence for Water at AUC, said: "This project is forming the next generation of water engineers, aspiring that one day, these young students would be able to help in solving major water challenges in Egypt and around the world."

The scholarship covers tuition fees, in addition to a student's monthly salary, housing allowance for students coming from outside the university's governorate in which they study, a personal laptop, free English courses, and an annual allowance for academic books. The scholarship also includes the possibility of studying a full semester at one of the American partner universities in the project: The American University in Cairo, Temple University, Utah State University, Washington State University, and California Santa Cruz University.
