AUC and the National Management Institute recently signed an agreement to build the capacities of the institute's Career Guidance Unit staff. AUC’s Career Center already started training the Career Guidance Unit employees, capitalizing on its decades-long expertise in the field.

AUC’s Career Center already started training the employees of the Career Guidance Unit, which was recently established by NMI. “This is the first time that the government sector establishes a special department for career guidance," noted Dr. Sherifa Fouad Sherif, NMI’s executive director. "The department aims at preparing and developing the skills of the professional cadres of the state administration to capitalize on the training and graduate study scholarship opportunities, which will enhance their qualifications and preparation for leadership positions."

Highlighting the importance of this collaboration, Ashraf Hatem, AUC counselor, said, “AUC is glad to collaborate with NMI in developing staff competencies in the career guidance unit through the training provided by AUC’s Career Center. This represents the second cooperation with NMI after the MoU that was signed last May with AUC’s Executive Education Department of the School of Business to train state administration employees."

AUC's Career Center was established in 1991 as the first university center for career services in the Middle East. It focuses on preparing and empowering students and alumni to manage their career and educational choices through providing comprehensive career services that help equip them for the job market and graduate study opportunities. The center has capitalized on its career guidance expertise in contributing to the establishment of centers for career development, and capacity building of its employees at Egyptian public universities.
